Sometimes being average ain't so good . . .

. . . Or is it?

According to WikiAnswers the average women's UK shoe size is 5 and getting bigger.  So it makes sense that shoes in size 5 and 6 are the most likely to go first when the sales hit the shops.  That is why I, being in the average shoe size of the UK, struggle to pick up bargains unless I'm first through the door.

Next launched their sale last week, so I took a casual browse in my local store to see what possible shoe bargains I might find.  These lizard-look blue shoes, reduced to £15, took my fancy. Unfortunately only size 3 and 4 were left on the shelf, so no purchase could be made.  I'm not even going to look at the online site, I'd honestly be tempted to buy the shoes and other items I don't really need just to justify the added delivery charge.

Perhaps that's not a bad thing, having limited choices on what I can buy, does mean that I spend less and that can't be all that bad can it?

I'm a UK 7 although around sale time I still can never find any shoes I really like. Sometimes I'll get lucky and find something online but otherwise I usually don't.

Probably a good thing since my shoes collection is out of hand and it helps me save a little bit of money... lol

I'm definitely thinking that being the average size shoes is preventing me making unnecessary shoe purchases thus saving me money and to be honest I'm struggling with space for my shoe collection too!

Good rationale! I'm a size 3 and a half so most shoes never fit anyway - except for the Prada ones a perfect 36.5!

I have the same problem as well! I'm a size 5 and my size is ALWAYS gone. Very frustrating!

Leonie - it is really frustrating when there's only size 3's or size 7's left on the shelves!

Make Do Style - I fully agree, the Prada ones wouldn't be anything less than perfect, Lucky you! Perhaps i should put them on my wish list for my fortieth next year!
