Recent-ish purchase - cute flats from Dorothy Perkins Shoes new, house step vintage Got my Louboutins re-soled by a great cobbler Gary at Timpsons Blackpool who really knows his shoes, good to know for future repairs My dog Jasper, has an unfeasibly large nose in this close up I love the Coke 'name' campaign, I found two with mine and my husband's name on them I do have a bit of an addiction to 'full fat' coke and even though I know that one bottle can contain around 11 teaspoons of sugar I still can't resist it! As my husband now knows, coke is for Clare . . . not for sharing! Sangria turns any rainy day into summer Shoe's first day out, first time I've worn these yellow lovelies despite having them for over six months! Antler bones , dogs love them (or should I say Harvey loves them) and its good for their teeth We celebrated my mum's 65th birthday, she's on the right and I am in blue ne...

The Louboutins first day out

Image
Me and my lovely niece at the do    I finally got to wear my Louboutins at a family wedding (will post more details later).  I didn't find a green dress to wear with the shoes but I did find a great substitute dress from Dorothy Perkins that was good enough for the day.  But the Louboutins, what can I say about these shoes? The highs They have to be the sexiest pair of shoes I have ever worn or owned.  They are incredible high, yet surprisingly comfortable to wear.  For the first time ever, I was the same high as my husband, no mean feat for a short-arse like me!  They give you toe cleavage, which Mr Louboutin thinks is sexy (not everyone feels the same way about that little peek of toe).  I wore them to church, posed for pictures and danced a tiny bit in them but took them off for the long walk down Blackpool North Pier - walking 1,650 feet down a wooden Victorian Pier is not for the faint-hearted and fashion-conscious. They are...

Faking it

There's an article online on the Daily Mail website about creating a DIY Louboutin. And the only word I can think of is why? Does creating a designer shoe, that still costs you over £100 and goodness knows how much time and patience, give you that feeling of satisfaction in finding the perfect shoe? While I am lucky to have a couple of designer pairs in my shoe collection, I can still get excited about buying a pair that cost me £20.  Its about the shoe, how it makes me feel, when I'm going to wear them and what the memories I've created wearing them . . . definitely not the price.  I'm just not sure I'd want to spend hours creating a 'fake' shoe to wear out, when I could be spending the time buying a pair of shoes that are within my budget.

Shoes in the news

Fashion parade in the school yard There's been some press coverage of Elle Macpherson wearing her Louboutins on the school run . Spotted wearing £650 Christian Louboutin 'Lucifer Bow' heels, Elle's outfit was perfect for that working mum, straight from the school gates to work. Although not many people would be whizzing off to film a TV show (if you can actually run in Louboutins! Elle was filming the next series of Britain's Next Top Model. Now I'm interested to know whether your school run outfits are 'super model' standard or your wardrobe has the mantra if its on the high street then its up my street! Answers on a postcard please. I've pasted a link just in case you want to add some Louboutins to your yummy mummy wardrobe. PS if I could afford Louboutins, I would wear them to do the ironing, put the bins out and even to watch the tide coming in on Blackpool prom.  A pair of these shoes would make any event seem like a red carpet event! ...

Jealous!

All the blogs are buzzing with the news that Blake Lively (Serena from Gossip Girl and a up-and-coming movie star) has had a Louboutin shoe named after her! On sale in a couple of weeks, the shoe is multi-coloured with cute little buttons. How nice is the official Louboutin site !

A girl after my own heart

Kylie seems to have treated herself to some new items for her shoe closet (I imagine that she does have a shoe closet, possibly a massive one).  This week, she's been spotted about town wearing some of her new purchases - the YSL Mohawk pumps and the Louboutin Armony boots.  Both items I would be quite happy to see arrive in my wardrobe.  I'd spotted the Mohawks in a magazine and to be honest I wasn't that keen, but now I've seen someone wearing them, I've changed my mind. And now, its not just because the pop princess is wearing them! Tomorrow is the first live X-Factor show, I can't wait to see wait Dannii has in store for us! Must also give a special mention should also go to another (retired) pop princess Lily Allen, the pregnant mum-to-be was pictured shopping in Paris wearing killer heels.  No shopping in sensible shoes for our Lily!
