Shoe of the Week

There are moments when shopping when something catches your eye and stops you in your tracks. These shoes were sitting on a shelf in my local Debenhams, they are probably still there too, waiting for me :(  Perfect for the in-between seasonal weather, perfect for me.

I love discovering new shoe options online, Call It Spring is one of my latest discoveries.  Its part of the Aldo group and is relatively new to the UK and available from stores including Debenhams.   The collection has the usual staple styles: mid heels, Mary Jane's, ballet flats . . .  the prices like these Wedges   are really reasonable for a high street budget.

Ugly Beautiful

Now these shoes could be my fashion marmite, you are either going to love them or you are going to think they are seriously f 'ugly. I spotted these Faith boots on sale in the Debenhams at the Bullring in January and resisted the urge to buy them.  On my return to Birmingham the other week, the shoes were still there - obviously waiting for me or that no bugger else would buy them!  With 70% off, these boots came to me at the bargain price of £17.50, not bad and those blue cross sales that Debenhams run are definitely needed in this current climate.  They are surprising comfortable, although if you were watching me 'clomp' around Debenhams for ten minutes in them 'trying before buying', you might have thought definitely! There are still a couple of sizes left online . I am saving them for a city break in Berlin in a couple of weeks to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary (time flies so fast) where I might team them up with a dress to celebrate in style...

Put on your red shoes and dance the blues . . .

My friend Sharon is looking for a pair of red shoes, so naturally this was the perfect excuse for me to find some shoes on the high street for her to consider. There are these peeptoes from Faith at Debenhams . . .  Click here for more info Or perhaps a wedge heel? More info here and I love these courts! Available to buy here What about a classic court shoe from Office? More info here Now, you can't argue with a chunky heel  . . . Available at Dorothy Perkins There's bargains to be had at Barretts . . . Just click here to buy, you know you want to What about a bit of sparkle ? How about some Vintage style or take a bow with these lovelies from Schuh You know you want to buy these And finally from Blink at Very, the perfect party shoe which reminds me of the Land of Oz . . . Are you ready to click your heels ? I've not made an exhaustive search on the web for red shoes, but there is plenty of choic...

What I love about Designers for Debenhams is that you can get a little bit of the designer lifestyle on a high street budget. Now Steve Madden has created a shoe collection for Debenhams called Madden Girl.   Its like a capsule wardrobe of shoes, with something for everyone from wedges to desert boots, flats to heels. Naturally, I had to choose these shoes as my shoe of the week.

Yellow peril

I've been on the search for a pair of yellow shoes for ages when I finally spotted this pair in a sales rack. Reduced to £28 on the shop then down to £22 at the till, you can't beat that price to cross an item off your shoe shopping list. I just have to decide what to wear with them yet.

So, here is it, Shoe of the Week in its new time and day slot. I went into Blackpool Town Centre today, first time I've been to the shops in ages and these shoes from Dune at Debenhams caught my eye.  I could say I feel 'head over heels' for them or they sent me dotty with the need to purchase but sadly I left these on the shelf in the shop.  What was I thinking!

Continuing my search for potential shoe parcels that I would like to see on my birthday.  My shoe collection is missing a pair of decent red heels and these would fill the gap.  I wonder if these will be making their way to my house in a couple of weeks time?

I'm not even sure that Posh Spice could walk in these heels ! But there is something so sparkly about them ,that they'd be the kind of shoe you'd be happy just to see in your wardrobe.

I couldn't resist these shoes from Dune @ Debenhams, I've fallen 'head over heels' with them - have you?

This week is a good time to snap up a bargain if you are visiting the Debenhams site as there is 25% off all departments till Saturday 11th September!  I feel this is a great excuse to do some necessary shoe shopping, it makes sense to take advantage of money savings in this current climate! My shoe of the week is the Miss KG Grey Minnie  high heels which have been reduced to a bargain £60.  While these beauties could look fabulous on a night out, I would actually use these to make a statement in the office.  I'd team them up with a black shift dress, keep things simple and just stride on into the office with You've Got the Love playing in the background.  It would definitely be one way of making an entrance! Enjoy the sales! xx

When shopping can get personal

I can't believe that we are over a third of the way through 2010! I've been married for over a year now and I've been reminiscing about that time recently. I didn't go down the traditional white wedding dress route - ever since I was a young girl, I'd never had that dream that I'd walk down the aisle in beautiful gown (this doesn't mean I'm anti-wedding gown, it just isn't me). The thing is, less than six months before our trip to Vegas, I really had no idea what I was going to wear. Blackpool has an ongoing regeneration project and a key part of this was a brand new shopping centre* with Debenhams the centrepiece. I decided to take advantage of their free personal shopper service and with my limited budget thought there was a slight chance of finding something suitable. I took my Marc Jacob shoes along to the appointment to see if I could find a dress to match my favourite shoes. I'd never done this before so didn't know what to expect, but...
