It's the start of a new year, the future's bright, so you gotta wear shoes.   These shoes from Kurt Geiger would be perfect to brighten up this dreary January.

charity shops, chinese and meeting the fishes

I need to get organised, I really should have written, reviewed and posted this days ago! I had a really nice day last Friday in Preston  which is about 15-20 miles from Blackpool.   The main focus of the day was to take a browse round the charity shops with my friend Sylvia as we'd done a similar trip a couple of years ago to source jewellery to create my vintage wedding bouquet. here's one we made earlier Things have changed, I'm not sure if you've noticed with your local charity shops but a number of those found on the high street have really increased their prices.  Now, I'm not saying that its not important to support the shops and help raise much-needed funds but at the end of the day, they are still selling secondhand goods so this should really be reflected in the price.  I do think that they can put off potential customers.  One shop actually had primark and Matalan products for sale at a higher price than they would have been brand...

Spotted on the street

Today, I was 'spotted on the street', well I suppose you could say spotted in the mirror! I've been meaning to do a post on the boots I own but just haven't got round to doing one yet.  So today, as I've started walking to work due to my car being very poorly. The need to get my dogs Jasper and Harvey to and from doggy-day care (my mum's but didn't it just for one second sound like I was Paris Hilton!) means I needed some boots that were made for walking. I usually buy a pair of boots every couple of years, I like to try and find a boot with some detailing that could resemble the vintage footwear like buckles or button detailing.  This pair were one of my last boot purchases bought from Barratts, for around £70, in December 2008 for my planned wedding and honeymoon in Vegas and San Francisco.  Funny story though, I thought I would save these boots for the holidays and choose to leave them in the box untouched until March when I'd be jettin...

Shoe of the week

So, here is it, Shoe of the Week in its new time and day slot. I went into Blackpool Town Centre today, first time I've been to the shops in ages and these shoes from Dune at Debenhams caught my eye.  I could say I feel 'head over heels' for them or they sent me dotty with the need to purchase but sadly I left these on the shelf in the shop.  What was I thinking!
