Spotted on the street

Its been a while since I've done one of these posts but these are a couple of the shoes that I've spotted on the street recently, well actually at a family meal last night.




So, my sister Tara treated herself to this wedges from New Look although I have an unconfirmed rumour that she has bought these in two colours!



And my friend Linzi has treated herself to some sequin Toms.  I really like the idea behind Toms where you buy a pair of shoes and a pair of shoes is then donated to a child in poverty. Getting them in sequins and doing a bit for charity seems like a great incentive to do some retail therapy don't you think!

My (male) friend takes photos of womens shoes (heels generally) for a facebook album... not sure his motives are the same as yours though! haha!

Shoe of the week . . . Really? For the current weather we are experiencing, I should be nominating a pair of waders of the week!  With May apparently going to be the wettest month this year, a pair of wellingtons rather than a great pair of heels is what you need.  But why should they be boring. These wellies from Funky Wellingtons should be enough to brighten any dismal day. Got to protect those paws I can't forget my four-legged friends during the wet weather, our dogs still need to get outside and exercise but it doesn't mean they are waterproof!  So, a set of boots for dogs would be perfect to ensure those lower to the ground are protected from the cold too!.

When shopping can get personal

I can't believe that we are over a third of the way through 2010! I've been married for over a year now and I've been reminiscing about that time recently. I didn't go down the traditional white wedding dress route - ever since I was a young girl, I'd never had that dream that I'd walk down the aisle in beautiful gown (this doesn't mean I'm anti-wedding gown, it just isn't me). The thing is, less than six months before our trip to Vegas, I really had no idea what I was going to wear. Blackpool has an ongoing regeneration project and a key part of this was a brand new shopping centre* with Debenhams the centrepiece. I decided to take advantage of their free personal shopper service and with my limited budget thought there was a slight chance of finding something suitable. Reasons to be cheerful

  Here's some cupcakes I made earlier So this morning wasn't a great start to my week, this weather is just awful and my car (or the Valentine Limo as I like to call it, due to the fact only I and my husband can drive in my immediate family, therefore the 'limo' is called upon to perform various duties - moving house, transporting children or pets, shopping trips . . .) is knackered.  Its booked in at the mechanics on Wednesday but its not looking promising.  Sadly the older the car is, the more it costs to run.  I sometimes feel like I'm driving the Toyota equivalent of a Hummer with the amount of petrol the car seems to guzzle! So what has brightened up my day?  Well to start with, I have won my first giveaway from fellow Blogger Primp and Preen . I can't wait for my parcel to arrive!
