I have too many shoes

My husband recently mentioned my love of shoes and suggested that 'perhaps I had too many'!  So it made me think (or at least panic that he had discovered my secret stash of shoes) do I have too many shoes? So I considered this logically: I don't have a pair of shoes in every colour of the rainbow;  I don't own a pair of Jimmy Choo; I need to find a pair of monochrome shoe; and   the  hot pink shoes to replace the ones my dog ate have not been bought yet.   So my conclusion is . . .  that no, I don't have too many shoes. There is still a place in my wardrobe heart to welcome more shoes to my collection.  You can tell a lot of research and consideration has been undertaken to form this conclusion! I am off to Benidorm in a couple of weeks, perfect for enjoying a bit of winter sun before December arrives and the Christmas shopping panic begins.  Now I've been told that I should be practical when it comes to the 'Dorm'. That means pack the flats not any fabulous heels.  I'm not sure if I can handle five nights away with no stilettos in my grasp, I just don't do 'flat'. So its either find a pair of heavy-duty, hard-wearing heels that can survive the trip or buy a cheap pair that will just about last the holiday but won't break my heart or my bank. Sometimes you don't realise how quick time flies.  It only seems like yesterday that my niece Liv was a little girl , now she's thirteen and has a better social calendar than me!  She just seems to have 'shot up' and grown into a lovely young woman.  She's developing her own style that suit a teenage budget but is also age-appropriate.  What's also great but has still taken me by surprise is that she knows what suits her and makes her own style choices, long gone are the days of buying her what I think she'd suit!  She has a birthday party in a really cute club in Blackpool to go to and also my mum's birthday dinner in a few days, so she's bought two dresses for the occasions - a navy dress with scalloping, layered detail (for the club party) and a cream vintage style dress (for the birthday dinner) that I want her to wear with some brown lace up worker boots.  She's bought her first pair of heels for the party from New Look to wear with her n...

The heels have paid the price for all that mojitos and disco dancing These days its important to look at your clothes and shoes to make them last, but doesn't it make you a little bit angry that some products on the high street aren't made to last?  Take shoes, you buy them and they come with a little warning that the heels may need replacing due to wear and tear.  Kindly they provide a spare set of heels,  there to replace the worn-away pair that have died a death due to you pounding the streets or office.  This wouldn't be a problem if 1) the heels on the shoes at least lasted longer than a month 2) the quality of the heels (and replacements provided) were actually good quality.  I think now the average price for re-heeling a pair of shoes could be anything from £5 and more.  It just adds onto the cost you've already paid out and I think we pay out enough.

I have to thank Make Do Style for giving me the 'heads-up' on LK Bennett's current collection of nude shoes.  I've been searching for a pair of nude shoes and I haven't found anything I like, until now . . . I want them all!  Although, I have to say my favourite are these slingback heels priced at £140. For the first time I am also nominating a runner-up, again from LK Bennett. Priced at £170, the Jane shoe gives you that sexy secretary chic that you've been coveting ever since you've started watching Mad Men, even though these shoes seem to good to waste on the office! I'm posting this during my week off work, sat in a pair of £3 primark jogging pants and a sex pistols t-shirt while I take a break from the huge pile of ironing I have to do!
