Progress report

At the start of this year, I blogged about the challenges I've set myself for this year.  So am I making any progress?

Water - to be honest, I have been totally 'pants' at achieving a healthy limit of water each day, although I am drinking green/herbal teas instead of a lovely mug of Yorkshire tea.  Its hard missing my two 'full-fat' cups of tea in the morning that make me feel at least semi-human but I'm going to stick to it, or that's what I keep telling myself.  Unfortunately, in a counteractive measure, I have developed a sweet tooth and am obsessed with trying out pre-Easter treats and the Cadbury's Chocolate with toffee popcorn.  It's more than likely that this is cancelling out any good work the green tea is doing.

Baking - not achieved anything, in fact I haven't eaten a cupcake since mid December, I might be suffering a mid-life cupcake crisis! Does anyone know if there is a helpline to call?

Ebay - am finally sorting out some clothes and shoes to sell in Ebay, so I am currently establishing operation De-clutter in my house.

New Experiences - So I want to do six new things this year so I have started with learning. A couple of weeks ago, I made the trip to snowy Birmingham to enrol in a part-time course - CIPR Advanced Certificate in PR.  It's been over five years since I have undertaken any further education so its a daunting prospect to consider the whole year I need to be dedicated to this.

On a completely irrelevant note, what does a mature student were to uni? I have eight days from Winter until summer where I will need to plan outfits.  For my first trip to Birmingham, comfort, style and snow dictated my outfit choice. I bought a pair of biker boots in the sales [post to follow] so my current uni-uniform is skinny jeans, boots and lots of layers.

I also managed my first visit to the Bullring, despite the snow and in the working week, it was packed with shoppers.  Now that's what I call dedication to retail therapy.

Good luck with your course and well done you for doing it! I think Jeans and boots are fine, you want to fit in and not feel overdressed x

Doesn't matter what day or what time, the Bullring is always busy!
What do these people do? If they work are they on a day off and if they don't work how can they afford to shop there?
Guess the Trafford Centre is the same, but at least that is fabulous to look at!
I hope you went and rubbed 'Bully' on his nose???!

Today, I was 'spotted on the street', well I suppose you could say spotted in the mirror! I've been meaning to do a post on the boots I own but just haven't got round to doing one yet.  So today, as I've started walking to work due to my car being very poorly. The need to get my dogs Jasper and Harvey to and from doggy-day care (my mum's but didn't it just for one second sound like I was Paris Hilton!) means I needed some boots that were made for walking. where do I start?

I've been neglecting my blog for the past few weeks while I've been suffering from a horrible chest infection.  I've just not had the energy to research shoes and window shop the latest that the high street has to offer. So now I'm dosing up on medicine and determined to get myself back on track. To help kick start my research, I've treated myself to some magazines, including the latest InStyle magazine, with the fabulous Dannii Minogue gracing the front cover. She is one of my favourite style crushes, especially after last year's X Factor.  In my humble opinion, she definitely won the X-Factor fashion crown! In the Style Candy section, they've listed a lovely pair of shoes available at asos.com that meet the nude trend while tickling your fancy with a feather embellishment. Goodbye 2010

As the door to one year closes, another opens Well 2010 is coming to a close.  It's been a mixed bag of a year: a new government in place, Royal Wedding announcements and the plight on miners trapped underground gripped the world.  For me, there were two significant milestones - my first wedding anniversary and the first year since my sister underwent treatment for cancer with an all-clear (we will have five years of these yearly milestones to go through).  In addition, one of my best friends had her first baby and my cousin got engaged on Christmas Day so we have had a couple of great events, which has made a real change from the last couple of years!
