What I have been up to lately

Just chilling in the cool grass
To cut a long story shut, not a lot. I spent the Jubilee Weekend on the couch, watching the celebrations on the telly. It really was a moment in our history and it is strange to think that while I have been lucky enough to celebrate the silver, gold and diamond Jubilees, that our younger generation might not be that fortunate depending on who will succeed the Queen on the Throne. The way she has celebrated her diamond year, its hard to imagine anyone else doing a better job! Its such a pity that the weather was so terrible.

What is wrong with our 'not-so-great' British weather? A couple of weeks ago, it was so hot, my dogs didn't know what to do with themselves, finding a cool place out of the sun was a priority for them.

On the one sunny day of the Jubilee Weekend, I went to the zoo with my mum and nephew. Blackpool Zoo has undergone a lot of changes since I'd last visited including a penguin exhibit.

I also got chance to go to the cinema and watch Avengers Assemble.  I'm a bit of a comic book/film geek and this was fab. I also discovered a new taste sensation - Cadbury's chocalate coated popcorn.  Its delicious!

So that was my week, I've not been up to much but have a number of shoe posts to do, so I will post soon. x

Sounds like a good week. Shame the weather had to be so rotten for the bank holiday but I think we all just made the best of it.

Today, I was 'spotted on the street', well I suppose you could say spotted in the mirror! I've been meaning to do a post on the boots I own but just haven't got round to doing one yet.  So today, as I've started walking to work due to my car being very poorly. The need to get my dogs Jasper and Harvey to and from doggy-day care (my mum's but didn't it just for one second sound like I was Paris Hilton!) means I needed some boots that were made for walking. Goodbye 2010

As the door to one year closes, another opens Well 2010 is coming to a close.  It's been a mixed bag of a year: a new government in place, Royal Wedding announcements and the plight on miners trapped underground gripped the world.  For me, there were two significant milestones - my first wedding anniversary and the first year since my sister underwent treatment for cancer with an all-clear (we will have five years of these yearly milestones to go through).  In addition, one of my best friends had her first baby and my cousin got engaged on Christmas Day so we have had a couple of great events, which has made a real change from the last couple of years! where do I start?

I've been neglecting my blog for the past few weeks while I've been suffering from a horrible chest infection.  I've just not had the energy to research shoes and window shop the latest that the high street has to offer. So now I'm dosing up on medicine and determined to get myself back on track. To help kick start my research, I've treated myself to some magazines, including the latest InStyle magazine, with the fabulous Dannii Minogue gracing the front cover. She is one of my favourite style crushes, especially after last year's X Factor.  In my humble opinion, she definitely won the X-Factor fashion crown! In the Style Candy section, they've listed a lovely pair of shoes available at asos.com that meet the nude trend while tickling your fancy with a feather embellishment.
