Weekend in a post
I've had a long weekend, no work except my domestic goddess duties and its been a bit weird. I've purposely not written any lists to achieve or planned any activities so that anything that happens is spontaneous but it is hard to get out of the thinking that I need to be doing something structured and not leisurely. With hindsight, I realise that I need to get a life!
So this weekend, I've managed to do all my washing and take advantage of the two days of sunshine we've actually had. So I have a batch of fresh-dryed washing to sort. What is it about fresh bedsheets that's just so perfect? I found this great site with tips of creating those fresh summery scents all year round, so rather than use up the earth's natural resources to keep things fresh, I can create some natural scents to pep up my laundry.
I also 'camped out' in front of the TV and watched Glastonbury, and was blown away by Beyonce. Despite 'the contraversy' of Beyonce being the headline act at the festival by a number of stalwart critics, she performed a fantastic set to around 170,000 people who looked like they wouldn't be asking for their money back. Although, I have to say that my favourite performance was Biffy Clyro Mountains.
I managed to read half of Her fearful symmetry by Audrey Niffengegger, who also wrote the Time Travelers Wife. I'd definitely recommend it. I'm not a massive fan of her first book but this book based around Highgate Cemetery is really good. I have two more books to read before I can fill up my kindle with new reads, so any recommendations are gratefully received.
My Sky Plus planner has also been greatly reduced and I've caught up on The Game of Thrones, repeatedly watched the final, ever episode of Brothers and Sisters
I'd also not been out for a few months so when I finally went out on Saturday night with a couple of friends for some early evening drinks, I managed to get easily tipsy. Hence I wrote a drunken post! Not sure how I managed to write something while under the influence and not incur spelling mistakes.
I've also been a bit behind with my blogging so am busy taking some pictures and normal posting will resume shortly.
