From the beaches of Brazil to the Blackpool sands

Now I bet you thought I was going to talk about some holiday I took in some far flung place but no, I'm going to talk about flip flops.  Actually I need to discuss the ultimate in flip flops - Havaianas. 

I've always bought cheap flip flops that last a summer and then end up in the bin a couple of months after constant use and abuse.  I'd never considered buying anything costing more than £5 that I would really only be used if I was by a pool or walking on a beach.  Then I saw these black pair in an online sale a couple of years ago and thought I'd increase the amount I was willing to pay for a pair of flip flops, so paid £15 for them.  Now I know it might sound a bit much but until you actually buy and use a pair, you don't realise what you might be missing out on! These are serious heavy-duty flip flops, I have worn them constantly throughout the past couple of years and they still haven't worn out, despite the fact I have been painting ceilings in them.

What's your budget for flip flops and have you caught the Brazil bug and got yourself some Havaianas too?

I love the fact that Havaianas are planning to cater for any type of weather with the introduction of their rain boot range, perfect for the great British summer!

Yes! I ave two pairs - hot pink and also silver, he metallic look ones. Aren't they just sooo comfortable! They are massive here in Australia.

I've been dithering about investing in a pair of Havianas for years. The cheapo ones wear out so quickly so I'm wondering wheter to bite the bullet and spend some cash on a decent pair.

I live in flip flops in the warmer months and have many pairs, none of which are especially expensive. I plan to buy some Havaianas as I have read so many good reviews...

I have a few pairs of havaianas my self. I got a gift certificate for my birthday last last years and that is where all the craze started.I got me and my daughters each a pair. And I buy one every 6 months.

Today, I was 'spotted on the street', well I suppose you could say spotted in the mirror! I've been neglecting my blog for the past few weeks while I've been suffering from a horrible chest infection.  I've just not had the energy to research shoes and window shop the latest that the high street has to offer. So now I'm dosing up on medicine and determined to get myself back on track. To help kick start my research, I've treated myself to some magazines, including the latest InStyle magazine, with the fabulous Dannii Minogue gracing the front cover. She is one of my favourite style crushes, especially after last year's X Factor.  In my humble opinion, she definitely won the X-Factor fashion crown! In the Style Candy section, they've listed a lovely pair of shoes available at asos.com that meet the nude trend while tickling your fancy with a feather embellishment. Goodbye 2010

As the door to one year closes, another opens Well 2010 is coming to a close.  It's been a mixed bag of a year: a new government in place, Royal Wedding announcements and the plight on miners trapped underground gripped the world.  For me, there were two significant milestones - my first wedding anniversary and the first year since my sister underwent treatment for cancer with an all-clear (we will have five years of these yearly milestones to go through).  In addition, one of my best friends had her first baby and my cousin got engaged on Christmas Day so we have had a couple of great events, which has made a real change from the last couple of years!
