Day Five - The Five Day Accessory Challenge

Friday is typically known as a 'dress down' day but I prefer it as the dress up denim day! The final day of the five day challenge and to be honest I think this is the one day where we both feel we can really go to town on our accessories.  I can't really explain it but it seems simpler to dress up a casual outfit than make a work outfit more glamorous.

Chrissie's collection 'was don't save it for best'  Do you ever buy something and them save it for best, then never get a chance to wear it?  Why save for best, if you felt it was good enough to buy then wear it anytime you feel like it!

clutch bag than can be easily held so you don't have to dance around it!
My collection was 'its time to belt up'  Using a belt I bought nearly four years ago but never worn as a basis for my accessory choices

Things we learnt from the challenge
  • we don't spend enough time planning our work outfits;
  • No matter how old the accessory is that it still can a fashion-shelf life;
  • That I don't experiment enough with fashion.

Those pop-socks look fab, I am going to have to hunt some down, I had a polka dot pair but laddered them last time I wore them :-(
Such a great challenge, I still have things Ive never worn one is a belt too a big studded one, you have spurred me on to try it out with a few things!x

I love the scarf and the hidden platform heels with fishnets! I am short of accessories, definitely not clothes so I'm concentrating on finding some bargains at the moment. I shall blog them soon. Hope you've had a good weekend xx

Spotted on the street

Today, I was 'spotted on the street', well I suppose you could say spotted in the mirror! I've been meaning to do a post on the boots I own but just haven't got round to doing one yet.  So today, as I've started walking to work due to my car being very poorly. The need to get my dogs Jasper and Harvey to and from doggy-day care (my mum's but didn't it just for one second sound like I was Paris Hilton!) means I needed some boots that were made for walking. Goodbye 2010

As the door to one year closes, another opens Well 2010 is coming to a close.  It's been a mixed bag of a year: a new government in place, Royal Wedding announcements and the plight on miners trapped underground gripped the world.  For me, there were two significant milestones - my first wedding anniversary and the first year since my sister underwent treatment for cancer with an all-clear (we will have five years of these yearly milestones to go through).  In addition, one of my best friends had her first baby and my cousin got engaged on Christmas Day so we have had a couple of great events, which has made a real change from the last couple of years! This has also been my first year as a blogger, so I wanted to say thank your for popping by my blog, leaving comments and all your support.  I've really enjoyed blogging and hope to continue developing my blog in the year to come. where do I start?

I've been neglecting my blog for the past few weeks while I've been suffering from a horrible chest infection.  I've just not had the energy to research shoes and window shop the latest that the high street has to offer. So now I'm dosing up on medicine and determined to get myself back on track. To help kick start my research, I've treated myself to some magazines, including the latest InStyle magazine, with the fabulous Dannii Minogue gracing the front cover. She is one of my favourite style crushes, especially after last year's X Factor.  In my humble opinion, she definitely won the X-Factor fashion crown! In the Style Candy section, they've listed a lovely pair of shoes available at asos.com that meet the nude trend while tickling your fancy with a feather embellishment.
