Shoe of the week

Image
It had to be Jimmy Choo this week. I have Jimmy on my mind as tomorrow it would have been my dad's - Jimmy Valentine -  65th birthday. While the Taffy 'choos' may not have been my dad's style (he wore flip flops at the first sign of sun, converse boots and cherry red doc martins) I'm sure he'd approve of this. x

Shoe of the week

It's freezing in Blackpool today, I'm sat in my pyjamas, with the central heating on, researching shoes. So I should be looking for something practical, warm and water resistant for this week's shoe, right? Well I'm feeling like one of those birds who's planning to migrate somewhere sunny.  Rather than finding fellow birds and practising an arrow formation to fly due South (or should that be west?).  My migration plan would be to pack, book and fly off in a metal 'bird' somewhere exotic.  And these Jimmy Choos would be migrating with me!

If I'd won the £166 million lottery (I'd didn't but these lucky buggers did!), then these Jimmy Choos would be first on my list.  Back to the drawing board on finding that winner ticket for now :(

Mad about Jimmy, how about Choo?

I have serious shoe envy Whenever and wherever I am, I'm always on the lookout for shoes. I love people watching and even more so since I started blogging.  Now my family has started to point shoe 'moments' out to me too! I was at a cousin's engagement party last week, which was a fantastic party. Even my Gran (90 in August) managed to stay till after eleven, now that is an inspiration to live up to. My Aunt made a point of highlighting these glorious shoes.  My cousin Matt bought his girlfriend Rachel a pair of Jimmy Choos for her birthday. After careful consideration of the joys of Louboutins, he decided on Jimmy Choos.  Classic black with a platform sole, these are  perfect for any outfit. For the party Rachel teamed them up with black leggings and a cream vintage-style top - classic yet current. A total surprise for Rachel on her birthday, I like the fact that her first outfit with the Choos was her pjs!  While she is normally ...

Well done

Congratulations to Tamara Mellon who has been awarded an OBE for services to the fashion industry. I love her outfit for the Palace but to be honest I'd have made her a Dame for creating Jimmy Choo!  Now I wonder if the Queen has a pair of Jimmy Choos stashed in a wardrobe at Buckingham Palace?

Match made in heaven?

Jimmy Choo is collaborating with Uggs, with their collection launching this October. It looks like Nicky Hilton got her pair early and tweeted a picture . To be honest, I'm not sure if I like her pair, that are embellished with stars and has fringing detail but I'd be interested to see what the full collection looks like. Looks like you'd get the glamour of Jimmy Choo and the comfort of the Uggs for a price tag of £695, too high for my pursestrings I'm afraid but let me know if you're planning a purchase.

Can anyone lend me £500million pounds?

I read this article today, its rumoured that Tamara Mellon is gearing up to sell Jimmy Choo.  I'm sure I'd make a great shoe-shopkeeper, although I'd be concerned about my profit margin mainly because I would want to keep all the shoes to myself.  I'd probably want to move into the shop too so I could surround myself with shoes.  If I could find some fellow shoe-lovers who are thinking the same thing, then perhaps we could club together and buy Jimmy Choo.  At this present time, I've got £10 to kick-start my funding bid, I just need to find at least 500 million shoe-lovers to put in a £1 each and we are on our way! Hey a girl can dream, can't she?
