Are you having a staycation this year?

I was feeling a bit sorry for myself today, thinking about the fact that my husband and I haven't been on holiday since 2010. We aren't going anywhere this year, except for some short visits to Chester and Bristol, so while they are nice places to visit, there aren't really a holiday.

But then I saw this video and thought, that having a stay-cation isn't a bad thing after all.

My holidays tend to be (a) going out on tour with Mr B and (b) cat friendly!
Mind you I might be about to hit a quandry! Mr B may be going on tour to Granada, which is the only place I have 'foreign toured' to and have always wanted to revisit. Umm, they DO have an Ibis in Granada, so the cats COULD stay, but I really don't think at their ages it'd be fair to introduce them to flying!! Am I totally mad even to think this??? Or should I be thinking c-a-t-t-e-r-y?

I love this video. Husband and I haven't had a proper holiday since our honeymoon in 2010. We've been making do with staying at the coast near us which I do love. We have got a couple of fab holidays planned for this year (Paris for our anniversary and Disneyland Paris with Immy the next month) but I'm still planning to book our little cottage by the sea for later in the year as I love it so much. xx

One of my blogging friends is coming over from the States to stay and I'm quite excited at the prospect of taking around and showing her places we take for granted, it'll be like seeing England through a tourist's eyes! x

Thats a really cute ad, and very true of course... shame we can't guarantee sun though!

A staycation sounds nice to me.
I would never contemplate a staycation, it is just so expensive to eat out and do things in this country you may as well go abroad where the weather is guaranteed. If I didn't feel the sun on my old creaky bones for a week once a year, I don't think I could cope!

OOh it sounds like you've all got lots of lovely plans this year and Penny Blossoms I think you'll have to research a cattery. I haven't even considered getting a passport for our dogs as I think Jasper would spend the flight howling and the entire flight would definitely hear it! Looking Fab - I have just found out that I am going to go somewhere sunny in November! Okay so its Benidorm but I am hoping the spend the week with cocktails and tapas. PS I definitely think the UK is too dear for staycations.xx
