Shoe of the week

Image
I spotted a magazine news article about new brand on the web Hush.   Naturally I felt the need to investigate their website; curious to discover what shoe delights they had to offer. There are some lovely items to choose from; including the cute Lindsey sandals but it's these lovely, sparkly loafers that I have chosen for shoe of the week. As I am having a lovely chilled out Sunday with the husband, the Corinne Loafers would be the perfect accessory for the day.

Its another shoe from Zara for shoe of the week.  These green lovelies are perfect, now that the weather is improving.

Ugly Beautiful

Now these shoes could be my fashion marmite, you are either going to love them or you are going to think they are seriously f 'ugly. I spotted these Faith boots on sale in the Debenhams at the Bullring in January and resisted the urge to buy them.  On my return to Birmingham the other week, the shoes were still there - obviously waiting for me or that no bugger else would buy them!  With 70% off, these boots came to me at the bargain price of £17.50, not bad and those blue cross sales that Debenhams run are definitely needed in this current climate.  They are surprising comfortable, although if you were watching me 'clomp' around Debenhams for ten minutes in them 'trying before buying', you might have thought definitely! There are still a couple of sizes left online . I am saving them for a city break in Berlin in a couple of weeks to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary (time flies so fast) where I might team them up with a dress to celebrate in style...

This week's shoe is by one of my favourite shoe shops - Kurt Geiger. Its got a little bit of everything that I like: hot colour, stilleto heel, peeptoe and a mary-jane type strap. Perfect for wearing in these last weeks of summer :(

Fit for a Queen Naturally this week's shoe is perfect for the Jubilee weekend, I just hope some of you are celebrating the national bank holiday in the sun rather than the wet weather most of us are experiencing. Wouldn't it be fab if the Queen was spotted in shoes like these during the weekend events!

Hopefully all are you are enjoying the Great British Summer (finally!).  With the sun comes the excuse to dig out the BBQ. Obviously wearing your best Louboutins or a pair of platform wedges isn't ideal, from a health and safety point of view, if you're in charge of cooking the bangers! So invest in some Toms , so your shoes, while practical, are as sparkling as your afternoon wine spritzer!

This week's shoe pays homage to West Ham who beat Blackpool in the race to join the premiership for the 2012/13 football season.   These Rupert Sanderson shoes - Claret - might not be practical for the terraces but they sure are stylish.

I've detoured off the high street for shoe of the week.  The shoes from See by Chloe caught my eye and they'd be perfect for a Sunday brunch somewhere special.

I chose to make a 'statement'

This post has been long overdue . . . I'm still struggling with feeling creative, I seriously need something to revitalise my mojo for blogging.  For this post I kept thinking of a post title like Just a splash of red or they had me at hello but if I don't post something today, I could be still here pondering my thoughts and not placing them in print by my next birthday! So here it is, a brief introduction to my Louboutins. Back in November, I celebrated my 40th birthday.  I must stress that I celebrated and did not commiserate my fourth decade of existence.  I spent a weekend in Liverpool where I enjoyed Tapas, shopping, cocktails, 80s retro bars (well really a strange basement bar, near the Cavern, where I got the chance to dance to Chesney Hawkes without derision) and reducing the multi-cultural divide with a number of people from the Scandinavia who were visiting for that weekend's Liverpool game.  Unfortunately at the point when three gentlemen fro...

Its my first 'shoe of the week' nomination for 2012 and I want to take you back to the eighties! Available from Dune, these shoes with the sweetheart detail give a nod to the 1980's but you don't need a bat-wing jumper or drainpipe jeans to complete the look.  The sweetheart detail at the front will help you show a little toe cleavage, just enough to make the simplest outfit, just that little bit sexy.

So I have two more weeks until my 40th birthday, that means there is still plenty of time to research shoe possibilities for my birthday present. It does feel like a moral dilemma, deciding on a pair of designer shoes in this current climate but what the heck, isn't the world meant to end in 2012 .  So if I can, I am going to go out in style! So, now the question is . . . do I make a statement with my designer choice? Or do I choose classic style? Well my current 'shoe crush' is on these statement shoes by Camilla Skovgaard at Net-A-Porter, I'm going to start research my classic choice now.

Continuing my search for potential shoe parcels that I would like to see on my birthday.  My shoe collection is missing a pair of decent red heels and these would fill the gap.  I wonder if these will be making their way to my house in a couple of weeks time?

Shoe of the week

Image
As of today, it is officially 40 days (and nights) until my fortieth birthday, so for the next few weeks I will be dedicating my shoe of the week posts to the shoes I would like to see wrapped up in a bow on my birthday. Although I know that I probably won't be getting loads of expensive designer shoes bought for me, I might as well aim high with my wish list! These shoes have been a previous nomination for shoe of the week and I definitely have Bibi-fever for these Louboutins .  In fact, if I'm lucky I may be purchasing a pair on my birthday so I'll keep you posted. x

Ode to a shoe

Image
dented beyond repair I mentioned in my earlier post that I had a slight mishap with my favourite pair of shoes.  They weren't really expensive at £25 from Dorothy Perkins but they were my dependable pair of shoes that would go the distance whatever a night out held in store.  Sadly, they are in a state of disrepair and are heading for that great shoe store in the sky but I feel I should write about our short life together before I box them away.  So  here is an open letter to my poor shoes. Dear Shoes, Maybe it was the redness in you, brought the devil out in me. You never really stood a chance.  On the first day of our relationship, we went out for a couple of drinks and I let a little Irish guy wear you to dance in a karaoke bar.  This crime was only remembered a week later . . . damn those sambuca shots. You've always been the perfect partner-in-crime and I had so much fun wearing you, parting is such sweet sorrow. Alas, it was a...

Shoe of the week

Its now just over four months away from my 40th birthday and I've been promised a pair of shoes as a present, so naturally I'm over-excited and thought I should start a list of potential candidates. Inspired by blogger Fashion Pearls of Wisdom who is a great ambassador for Vivienne Westwood, I decided to do a little online research into the shoes that Dame Westwood has to offer a shocaholic like me. Of course, there are some great contenders for my present selection.  Like America's Next Top Model , I need to narrow down my list from hundreds down to a select few or else I would need more than four months to make my choice, so here is my favourite two. So firstly I spotted the Anglomania x Melissa Lady Dragon Heart Shoe and then I feel in love with these Skyscraper heels .  Both available on the Triads website and they are definitely on my list.

If I'd won the £166 million lottery (I'd didn't but these lucky buggers did!), then these Jimmy Choos would be first on my list.  Back to the drawing board on finding that winner ticket for now :(

New sandals on the block

Image
I've invested in some new sandals as my current pair were looking a bit tired or should I say 'well-loved'. So I bought these sandals from Deichmann .  At £14.99, I didn't think they were a bad price and with the metallic detail, they can be a bit dressy for a flat sandal or just as easily suit a casual outfit planned. Deichmann has around 2,500 stores across Europe and the US, so you're bound to bump into a store on your travels.  There's one in Blackpool and what I liked about it, was that it has an old-school look to how they display and hold stock in-store.  Remember years ago, when you bought shoes and they were boxes and boxes stacked up on shelves just waiting for an assistant to climb up steps to find your size.  It makes me a bit nostalgic about the build up to a shop purchase.

This week's shoe is from Zara , at £29.99 these are gorgeous shoes, a perfect colour for summer and I don't think the price is that bad.  Available in blue and fuchsia, so take your pick.  These would be perfect for your summer break whether you'll following the TOWIE gang to Marbella or hoping the rhythm is gonna get ya in Miami.  Now I definitely know what my choice would be.

Now my shoe of the week is ticking a couple of season trends - prints and brights. As this time of year, ladies are planning outfits for a wedding or a day at the races, this shoe would be the perfect complement to stand out in a crowd!

True Blue baby I love you This week's shoe is courtesy of Topshop.  This shoe has that mix of 1940's glamour meeting this Spring/Summer's need for brights.  Suitable for a fashionista or a vintage lover, easily complementing that perfect dress or sexy skinny jeans.
