I have too many shoes

I love using Pinterest to get ideas for our home improvements, planning outfits, drooling over cupcakes and discovering cocktails that I need to try. With an trip to New York planned in the next few months, I'm using it to research ideas for outfits that are a combination of chic yet casual, perfect for a city break with a nod to style by adding a statement necklace to a t-shirt and jeans or a pop of colour.  My current colour of choice is  yellow  to add a bit of sunshine to my capsule holiday wardrobe. These heels from Zara will give me that much-needed Carrie Bradshaw approach to my city style.

This week's shoe is from Zara , at £29.99 these are gorgeous shoes, a perfect colour for summer and I don't think the price is that bad.  Available in blue and fuchsia, so take your pick.  These would be perfect for your summer break whether you'll following the TOWIE gang to Marbella or hoping the rhythm is gonna get ya in Miami.  Now I definitely know what my choice would be.

these shoes were made for walking This week's shoe , I hope, mixes fashion with practicality.  Addressing the Spring/Summer 2011 trend for block heels and identifying shoes I can walk to work in, these Zara shoes really tick the box for me (especially the buckle details).  Fingers crossed we actually get the weather this year as if its anything like last year I'll be in wellies rather that these lovely sandals!

This is our semi-permanent house guest - Harvey Valentine - a rough-haired Jack Russell, that seems to attract muck like a magnet and has a love of shoes that more than equals mine.  We're not sure how it started or why, he has always been this way.  It's like a shoe is his comfort blanket, he either has to have one by his side or if one of us is walking through the front door then he has a mad search to bring us a shoe like its a gift. We've had a couple of mishaps along the way; usually I can restrict Harvey's access to shoes so that he can only enjoy my husbands old pair of trainers but previous a pair of M&S gold ballet pumps suffered a premature death.   Sadly I'm now suffering a Cinderella moment as my Zara ballet pumps have fallen victim to Harvey!  I now can only locate one shoe, the other has not been since for other a month despite numerous searches, I was considering the coastguard but I think Harvey is more than a match for them.  I'm p...

This week, I'm researching work shoes, now these court shoes from Zara are perfect.  A low heel for comfort, patent for a bit of glam, and some tassles for detail.  Currently priced at £49.99.  The Zara website also has a lookbook function where it shows you outfits to complement your shoes (or should that be the other way round?).  I'm not really sure I like the outfit used, its looks a bit too much like a catholic school uniform, I've been there, done that and worn the t-shirt.  I'm not sure I could really rock that look again over 25 years down the line.
