I have too many shoes

My husband and I have been discussing the pros and cons of booking a holiday to New York for 2014.  Obviously the pros are the shopping, the buildings, cocktails, the deli's and a chance to sit on Carrie Bradshaw's brownstone step .  The cons are the current economic climate, money and getting passports renewed, etc. To make a serious decision, I need to stop dreaming about watching down 5th Avenue 'Carrie' style carrying shopping bags and wearing these heels from ASOS! 

The Carrie Diaries is Candace Bushnell's prequel to Sex in the City.  Its all about Carrie Bradshaw in her senior year in the 1980's. Its got the fashion and Carrie, but it won't have Miranda, Samantha or Charlotte. Well not at least till Carrie gets to college then New York and that's only if this pilot is successful enough to launch a series that will take Carrie and Co into the nineties.  AnnaSophia Robb stars as the teen Carrie and based on the trailer the series has got the Carrie voiceovers and the lead actress has that distinctive hair and possible a wardrobe to die for. Its based on the book not the SATC series,produced by CW ,  it won't have nudity or swearing so its going to be very different from the SATC series and films.  It looks like its been developed for a younger audience rather than SATC devotees, so it would be interesting to see how successful the pilot and subsequent series will be.  If we've following the journey of Carrie and Big fro...

I know its not everyone's cup of tea but I really miss the Sex and the City series.  Yes, the films are good (well the first one was, the second not so good) but the series was a weekly fix of fashion moments.  I always wanted one of Carrie's collection of clutches, my favourites scene was in the last episode, when Carrie was stuck in Paris waiting for her artist boyfriend to pay her some attention.  Digging around in her vintage clutch, she found her 'Carrie' necklace and realised that she needed to be back in New York with her friends.  The rest is SATC history, she was rescued by Big and whisked back to her most important accessory - New York city.  Hey, even Park Avenue Princesses need rescuing sometimes! Anyhow, obviously I can't afford Chanel vintage but still wanted to get a bit of Carrie's vintage style but have lucked out on finding anything in my local charity shops and my Ebay experiences have been not so great - I just can't get my head around...
