I have too many shoes

So its my first shoe of the week for 2016. As its awards season, I like to nominate these River Island shoe boots for the best supporting role; for providing the perfect complement to a date night outfit, adding the funkiest style to that cute leather shift dress you've been saving for cocktails with the girls and providing general sass to any outfit.

Been a un-regular poster of late, but aiming to get back on track now with my regular shoe of the week posts. Here's the perfect shoe for the upcoming bank holiday weekend, its got that sunny colour and is a bit of fun for your shoe collection.  Here's hoping the weather is just as cheerful as these shoes!

This is the perfect shoe for me at the moment.  I am green with envy over my sister's shoe collection.   I have trained her well and now her taste in shoes and her collection is building up nicely.  Every time I pop to her house there is a pair of shoes, perched on her stairs like a piece of art.  They are pointy, they are high, they are lush and they are not mine!   Time to review my own collection and make some new choices.

I've just returned from a girl's weekend in Chester where the weather has been glorious, the perfect weather to browse the shops and have a few drinks on a garden terrace. Having these shoes ,with their flatform style,would have made it more perfect for negotiating those cobbled streets whether I was carrying shopping bags or coping with the after-effects of Cherry-cola alcohol shots (far nicer than they sound).

I know I should really be searching for snow boots or sensible flats with the current weather but I'm in denial.   The snow hasn't made its way to Blackpool yet, so I'm going to ignore the possibility of white, frosty pavements and leap forward to spring with these beauties from River Island.

be seen in green On my first foray onto the high street in 2011, I popped into River Island for a bit of a browse around the shoe department and spotted these .  I love the shape of the heel, the overall design of the shoe is retro made modern. They're available in pink, grey or green with a contrast between the suede and (I think its) snakeskin effect on the heel and ankle strap.   They are priced at £69.99.

These shoes from River Island really cut the mustard for me! The yellow wedges ,  priced at £64.99, have a heel height of 10.5 cm, so wearing them would be an uplifting experience for a shortie like me. I really love this colour for winter; the peep toe, ankle strap and stitching detail all add to its design.  The River Island website also provides outfit suggestions to create a whole look around the shoes.  I wasn't keen on the outfit it suggested for these yellow cuties but I can imagine if you've only got a limited time to do some online shopping, then this service would be really useful when you're in a rush to buy an outfit for the weekend. I can picture myself wearing these with thick tights and a fine grey knit dress on Christmas Day 2010.  However, based on the weather last year with the snow and ice, I need to be investing in snow shoes or planning an outfit around a pair of wellies! Any suggestions gratefully received . . ....

I've quite proud of myself, I've not bought any shoes for quite a few months now and its given me a chance to give some of my neglected shoes an airing.  This should give me more value for money ie number of wears against cost but I've started to get that feeling that I need a new acquisition to my collection!  This has increased since my sister  Tara showed me her new purchase from River Island.  I'm quite jealous; these fit the nude trend this season and I've yet to find my perfect pair of nude shoes on the high street. These are definitely statement shoes and I love the hot pink heel and cut out detail.  The bow detail at the front are super cute! It's a pity Tara is a size five, I'd have loved to borrow them for a night out, althought I might have had to sneak these out of her wardrobe!  Now all she has to do is find the right outfit to really show off the shoes.  I've suggested a little black dress (LBD) with a skinny hot ...
