I have too many shoes

I am so ready for Spring! I've spent the week suffering with a horrid cold following a fab city break in Krakow (post to follow). I'm usually a winter person at heart - I love dark nights, warm fires, stodgy food and my trusty uggs - but this winter seems to have really dragged on. So now I'm getting ready for a new season: writing my lists of spring-cleaning tasks that need doing, digging out my tee-shirts and dusting off my flip-flops. So this weekend, when the clocks 'spring forward', so will I!

I still can't get my head around the weight restrictions for luggage; I either end up paying for a too-heavy case (costing me an additional £25 for my trip to Vegas last March) or having a lighter suitcase when I really could have fit an extra pair of shoes in there. Like my recent trip to Krakow, for instance. I definitely would have benefitted from taking my Kurt Geiger pixie boots to create a cool yet practical city-break outfit. Luckily, I had the chance to test out my new pair of Uggs (classic and grey - a 2009 christmas present from the husband) needed for the snowy weather. Krakow is a beautiful city, well worth taking a visit to enjoy the beautiful buildings, culture, food and drink. It's hard to believe that its only started getting tourists in the early 1990s. Is Hollywood making too many remakes and not enough original movies? I've just seen that Overboard , the 80s movie with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell is to be remade with Jennifer Lopez muted for the main role. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=64402 Overboard is one of the those films that's meant for a rainy Saturday afternoon and I'm not sure that a remake will do it any justice or be improved. Remakes don't necessary mean a success at the box office, I've been disappointed by the Alfie and The Italian Job remakes (to name a few) and would like to see studios spending money on original and innovative movies/stories like Avatar and The Lovely Bones. Its Mothers Day and its a beautiful sunny day in Blackpool. Just thought a video from one of my favourite shows would brighten up my blog. Quite literally, on a Monday night, the hour-long episode of Glee fills my heart with glee Two of my favourite characters are Emma and Kurt, both completely fashion-forward with Emma ,having a wardrobe to die for and Kurt, who has a healthy respect for Mr Marc Jacobs. I'm looking forward to spending time with the four most famous ladies who brunch when SATC 2 finally arrives in the cinema! Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha definitely know all there is to know about shoes! Looking forward to seeing you again ladies!

I need to point that I love shoes of all colours, sizes, shapes and prices. Even the cheapest charity shop finds can result in the finishing touch to that planned outfit. A pair of £4.95 black peep-toe courts from the cancer charity shop up the road are my trusty work shoes for the summer months. My latest aquisition from Shoemarket (before I gave up shoes for lent) were some black patent platform heels (pictured) that resemble some of the heels worn currently by Eva Mendes and Jennifer Lopez. The only difference is that mine cost £14.99 not around $500!

I have a six year old Jack Russell - Jasper - who shows a healthy respect for my shoes but that wasn't always the case! At less than a year old, he managed to customise my pair of hot pink 4" heels. Unfortunately the custom job meant that one shoe had suffered a number of holes created by puppy teeth whilst the other shoe remained perfect and intact. No amount of sticky tape or glue would restore them to the gorgeous fuchsia originality. Unfortunately those shoes were sent to shoe heaven and I learnt my lesson: all future shoes are boxed and placed far higher than his little legs can take him! Unfortunately these precautions did not cover my ghds that also suffered the same fate:(
